Wedding Party Duties

What should I expect from my Wedding Attendants?

When you select your wedding party, think about those that you really trust and enjoy being around. Just because you were in someone's wedding does not mean that you must ask them to be in your wedding.

Duties of a Good Maid of Honor (MOH)

Provides emotional support to the bride during the planning process and on wedding day
Helps the bride organize her attendants for dress fittings and pick up of dresses
Helps write down gifts and names at showers
Helps address invitations, shop for accessories, favor assembly, runs errands, etc.
Attends all pre-wedding parties, help throw the shower if needed
Helps the maids call non-respondent RSVPs to get an accurate final guest count
Helps the bride get her luggage to the reception & into the getaway car for departure
Helps keep the bride on schedule the day of the wedding
Ensures that the attendants make it to appointments, the ceremony, & the reception on time
Assists the bride into her wedding gown and knows how to bustle the back
During the ceremony hold the bride’s bouquet, smooths the train & veil as needed
Following the ceremony takes the gown and bouquet for preservation

Duties of a Good Best Man

Helps plan the bachelor party
Helps research honeymoon options
Helps pick up and return tuxedo rentals
Helps the groom get his luggage to the reception & into the getaway car for departure
Helps keep the groom & groomsmen on schedule the day of the wedding
Makes sure the marriage license is signed
Guards the rings and holds them for the ceremony
Gets the officiant’s fee from the groom and pays the pastor
Helps transport the couple from the ceremony site to the reception site
Makes the toast to the new couple during the reception

Duties of a good Bridesmaid
Helps with pre wedding tasks such as running errands, addressing invites, favor assembly, etc.

Attends all pre-wedding parties, may help MOH throw the shower
Helps the MOH call non-respondent RSVPs to get an accurate final guest count
Assists the MOH in her role as needed

What are the roles of an Usher?

Seats guests as they enter
Helps guests know which side is his/hers and which spaces are for family seating
Rolls out the aisle runner if there is one
Ushers may escort in ladies in the processional if needed
Transports the bride’s maids from the ceremony to the reception
Dances with the single ladies at the reception (young and old)

It's an honor to be asked to be a wedding attendant, thats why it's also called honor attendant! Be selective in who you choose!

Be a good attendant!

Happy Anniversary Blaine + JP

Happy Anniversary
Blaine and John Mashburn
May 24, 2009

One special treat was a father-daughter dance by Blaine and her dad (Kim).
Their song was interrupted by a remix of multiple dances.
As each song came on Blaine and Kim were compelled to do the dance!
From the twist and thriller to the Macarena and YMCA. It was hilarious and a great surprise to guests!

Blaine and John left in a Red Rolls Royce. The car was actually purchased from Celine Dion and now is available as a rental.

Happy Anniversary Katie + Pete

Happy Anniversary to

Katie and Pete Waldrop
May 24, 2008

During the planning process Katie was in law school. Her mother lived in Kentucky. We sent page long emails back and forth during the planning process!

The ceremony took place at All Saints Catholic Church

When guests arrived to the reception, they mingled in the gardens with wine and drinks. Shortly after, Katie and Pete arrived to the reception in a limousine. They were introduced into the gardens with the flower girl dropping petals in front of them!

Thank you and Goodbye!

I love planning!
Weddings are the best!
Over the past seven years, I've been a part of over 115 weddings.

At the end of this year I will be closing Ever After Events and will just be planning weddings for friends and family.

I wanted to say thank you to all of the couples that have let me share in their special days! Beginning with my brother’s wedding in January 2004.

Happy Anniversary Brittany + Ben

Happy Anniversary
Brittany and Ben Cudzilo
May 15, 2009

Water has been a theme for Brittany and Ben!
To propose, Ben swam through a cove to surprise Brittany on the dock where she was sunbathing. The swim was longer than he had anticipated. He had to float on his back a few times before he got there. Once he arrived he had to lay flat and catch his breath before he could present the ring!

Unfortunately, this water theme was also present on wedding day. The ceremony was delayed an hour. The rain finally stopped and we were wiping dry the chairs. As guests entered the ceremony area, we gave each of them a paper towel to double check their chair for water. Just as we had 1/3 of the guests in the area, we got a call that the church next door was able to open up and let us use the sanctuary. Someone had a major connection!

Brittany was concerned about the rain, but mainly she wanted to be married to Ben! She was so relieved to see him that she could not contain her joy as she approached him!

What a sweet couple!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Anniversary to Ashley and Shaun!

Happy first anniversary to Ashley and Shaun!

They were married May 14, 2010 at
Rosewood Gardens in Sevierville.

The reception was at Smoky Mountain Christian Village.
The before and after pictures show Ashley's baby blue theme come to life!

Guests arrived to shrimp shooters and other appetizers. Following dinner, Ashley and Shaun cut the cake. Shaun's cake was a Bubba Fet head from Star Wars.

Ashley and Shaun's sweet heart table was just right!

Following the cake cutting, guests retired poolside for some dancing with Knox Vegas DJs.

A small candy buffet provided a sweet treat for guests! Princess slippers and hershey kisses!
Sandra Smith of Moonlight Photographic took some fabulous pictures.
Happy first anniversary!
