The groom's cake was originally a chocolate choice to give a contrast to the bride's cake. Recent weddings have found chocolate fondue stations, cup cakes, cookies, a tower of Twinkies, cheesecakes, and even football stadiums are becoming more popular for the groom's choice. Since it's one of the few choices he makes, it should reflect him in everyway!
Look no further for UT stadium cakes than Daisy Cakes!
Chocolate fondue can be served on the buffet line or at a separate station. Often, cupcakes, cookies, cheese cakes, and other goodies are served around or beside the bride's cake. In this case, the question arises if you allow cookies and cupcakes to disappear as the tiered cake awaits the first cut. Some say it represents the groom's choice and should be served along with the wedding cake as the groom's cake would be. Other's say it doesn't matter- but does it? What happens when it's time to cut the tiered cake and all of the other goodies are gone? The pictures certainly look better when the table is full of goodies. Half empty platters are not recommended.
If the goodies are on a separate table, by all means let them eat! However, if they are served alongside the cake and will be in the pictures, save the dessert! Post a caterer or friend near the tasty treats to keep guests from snacking. Trust me, all it takes is one guest to dive in before all the guests are scarfing up the goodies.
Let them eat- after the cake is cut!
