How to work a bridal show!

Once you get engaged, it's a must that you attend bridal shows!
Both small and large bridal shows are beneficial to you.

Whether you're newly engaged, or the wedding is a month away, you can use a good bridal show!

Small bridal shows:
Small shows are often sponsored by businesses (venues, bridal shops, etc). They often limit the number of vendors allowed to participate. Which is good, it means they were hand selected! These shows are great for getting to know vendors one on one. You have the time to chat with each of them to see what they have to offer. Small shows often ask vendors to provide give aways to brides. This is great for you! The fewer brides that attend, the more likely you are to win a prize!

Large bridal shows:

Large shows can bring hundreds of brides and many, many vendors! These shows are known for elaborate set ups in tents, lighting, fashion shows, food displays, etc.  Large shows are meant to connect brides to vendors! Many brides see the hot pink lanyard around their neck as a target. They breeze by booths and go straight for the food! Who can blame them- the chocolate groom's cake is yummy! But, remember you're there to collect information, stop and chat it up with the vendors!

There may be 100+ booths, so pace yourself!
Wear good shoes, come hungry and be ready to chat it up with folks. Interview them to see what they can do for you. Get their cards even if you're not sure if you need them.

Many vendors will have give aways. You will get hand cramps after signing your information ten dozen times. Here's a tip! Print out on sticky labels the following information: your name, wedding date, phone number, and email. Then just stick them to the slip of paper and enter the drawing with ease!

Also, you will receive a ton of emails following the show. Set up an email just for wedding stuff. Be sure to check it a couple of times a week- there may be some great deals in there! Then, after the wedding you can get rid of the account and not have them clog your personal or work emails! Premier bride has an email system that you can set up for free (bridemail.com). Check it out on their website!
When you get home you will have a bag full of cards, samples, etc. Don't procrastinate. Pick a day that week to look through the bag and follow up with web searches, phone calls, etc. It will be fresh on your brain and the bag will not sit for weeks on your 'to do' list!
